6.10 Galway to Killarney and 7.10 Killarney

Two Padres back in Derry told me that its quite safe and easy to hitchhike in Ireland. Well of course I had to try it. My first intention was to hitchhike from Derry but I was too tired and hangoverish to do it. After good nightsleep in Galway, except the masturbation incident, I decided to get a lift for free. I asked the receptionist if they could gime me some cardboard and a wide marker to do my sign. The dude at the receptions was kind enough to give me some advice, so I made a two sided sign, on the other sides was Killarney and on the other side Limerick. I was told that nobody will go straightly to Killarney but from Limerick it would be possible.
Christmas came early. After 10 minutes wait beside the road a car stopped and I got my ride. He left me somewhere I cant remember and from there on I got another ride after 40 minutes wait. Once again a little language barrier was hanging on the air since the dialect of the latter driver was so rich and strong but I got the "job" done and was in Killarney! Saved me about 40€....nice.

Killarney is in the count of Kerry. Kerry is known for its beatiful scenery around the peninsula of Kerry. You can do daytrips or go there with bike. Killarney itself is quite small town and hence there is not much to see but it is located nicely so theres lots of tourists and backpackers.

Since I booked the hostel for a couple of nights I decided to go Tesco for some grocery. Man did I hit the jackpot! I had fancied about some nice chicken pasta and there it was. Three chicken breast fillet for only 0.89€ since the last date of use was on next day. The original price was 8.99€ so I went nuts. Shopping sphree! I bought two packets and therefore I ate chicken pasta for 4 days...Hey! It was a bargain and Im budget travelling.
Did this so called Ring of Kerry-daytrip by bus. The peninsula of Kerry was amazingly beatiful but so where the two German gilrs that were on the same trip. Thank you Verina and Christine! It was a pleasure.
Those of you who own a motorbike, go to Ireland and do the countryside. All the time I was there I just thought how spectacular it would be drive around there.
Yet another castle.

just some scenery at Kerry

Christine, me and Verina...grrrr
I guess I still own the guy who took tthe picture a pint for focusing so long ;)
