26-31.10 Berlin part 1

I was to meet my friend Tuukka in Berlin. Happy days!
So we sent some sms:s and met at Alexanderplatz station and headed to restaurant. Tuukka had already sorted it out and took control of the evening. It was so nice to for once just to follow somebody and no need to read the map. We were to eat some traditional Baiern food and the best part was that Tuukka was gonna pay it all. That basically ment that I ate my first decent meat dish in 6 weeks! Hey, Im budget travelling, remember? And the food was good and there was plenty of it and it was unhealthy :) Yay! We ate pork neck that means we ate something that most girls would be picking around tha plate, but I loved it, and there where these two balls that looked like tennis balls, but felt like breast implants (not that I would know what they feel like). They were knödels. Im so disappointed that they didnt have on their meny the thing we were after, whole pigs claw. That would have been awesome. After eating we went to listen some "kikkelijatsi" which means "meaningless jazz" or something like that ;) Some Finnish musician humor since the correct translation would be "williejazz". After that we were lured by numerous hookers but we were to get drunk, not infested with unwanted diseases or mugged. Hooray for boobies, high heels and short skirts though! :)
The Berlin Dom (Cathedral)

Bullet holes! Why did they have to shoot an innocent building??

Hmmmm...taken on a museum island in Berlin

Nationalism or patriotism...

This was ment to be a monument (Branderburg gate) of peace originally.

And the monument of holocaust.

Branderburg gate from other direction

Sony center

I think its huge, the tower I mean..

Which one do you prefer?

Some inside humor for my ex-colleagues. Ergonomic wonder!

One of the coolest cafeterias ever!

Dear Hobbit, this one is for you.

Hobbit size "car".

This was Luftwaffes (German airforce) headquarters during WWII. It didnt get a single hit from allied bomb raids, and its huge. Some believe it was a conspiracy or a gentlemans agreement not to bomb this building.

Another peace of Berlin wall

One og the many music halls in Berlin.

This is the place where Nazis burned some books. Empty shelves, quite clever...

This is the microphone!

Its not a swastika, not even close. This is how not to be swastika in Germany ;)

Wheres the Waldo? Back in the days when the Finnish still used to be good at sports.

Olympic stadium

Bell...a nazi bell...

It quite not as popular as the Olympic stadium, but at least there is one in Berlin.

3rd Reich architecture at its best.

I might not have been blessed with many things, but the gods of weather have been kind to me.
