It was time to fly to Finland!
Didnt have much sleep since the two Aussie girls in my room had their alarms ringing at 5 o'clock and I allways wake up on those. I tried to sleep couple of hours more and rose about 7 o'clock. Packed my stuff and checked out. At that point I realized that I didnt check how to get to Airport. Well no problem, theres a train&metro station in 10minutes walking distance. When I got to the station, of course there was no train or metro connection to the airport. I luckily spotted a bus that was going to the airport. By the time we had been riding about 15 minutes I realized that I havent checked which airport my flight was about to leave. I was pretty sure it was Tegel....pretty sure. So the whole second half of the bus ride I was hoping that Im gonna arrive at the right airport. I did remember correctly, this time.
Back at home only two of my friends knew that Im visiting Finland briefly. You can imagine my other friends faces when I appeared at my local pub. Happy days and a lots of drinks! Thank you guys, I love you!
The reason I had to visit Finland was that I had promised to do this one acting gig on a cruise ship from Helsinki to Stockholm. That particular cruise is essential part of Finnish culture. Married people go there to have sex with other married people and back at home they are like nothig happened. Alcohol comsumption is through the roof of course. If you dont belieave me, I will take you to a cruise when you visit Finland.
Usually my cabinet is somewhere between bilgewater and the car deck but this time I had a nice cabinet with a window all by myself! Think about the possibilities man! Ive been sleeping for 6 weeks with 4-14 people in the same room but now I was all alone in a nice cabinet on a "love boat". The outcome: zero, nada, nothing. There were only coupples o that cruise with their kids. After midnite show the bars were copletely empty. Only our group and few more. Thats why we got kicked out of the bar as the last customers in both evenings of the cruise. Yay! Just my luck.. So this time I was not even near of "almost scoring". Duh.
The drummer of the band I was touring with had this great idea. There was one liter pint of Paulaner-beer at discount and you could keep the huge glass pint! Happy days! Only problem was that when the drummer decided to buy us a round of those he didt yet know that his wife would not want those glass pints in their home. Neither did the bassists or the guitarists wife. I was to go directly to airport so I would not take any of those. So we placed them all in front of the keyoardists cabinet door along the ships corridor. My idea btw.
Summary: couple of hangovers, lots of money spent. No luck with the ladies (big surprise). Gayish wine&cheese discussion ;) Gotta get back abroad :)
